Hosting The Week with your friends or colleagues is easy.

If you want to try The Week, don't do it alone! Invite people who matter to you to watch it with you. It's so much more powerful to be able to talk about this and not be alone with whatever we feel.

And if you've already done The Week and want to do it again with other people who matter to you, this page is for you too! Your friends of colleagues are in for a beautiful experience.

Four steps. That's all there is to it.

1. Choose your friends

3 to 8 people is a good number. Chose amongst your friends, family or colleagues people who matter to you. Don't watch this alone, it's not nearly as interesting or powerful!

2. Pick a date

Pick 3 nights in a row, or spread them out over the course of one week. Or pick lunch dates if you do it with colleagues.

If you first want to check who is available when, Doodle or a similar app can make things easier. But it can often be easier to plan the dates first, then invite after. If someone can’t come, hopefully someone else from your group will organize another soon!

You can organize the screening either in person or use a video calling platform like Meet or Zoom to watch the episodes and have the conversations remotely. Stay safe in COVID times!

Binge watching not allowed! It's good to sit with each episode and conversations for at least 24 hours to digest them, before going on to the next one.

3. Send them an invite

If you haven't done The Week yet, you can start by telling your friends something like this:
I've heard about a new three-part documentary project about the environment and how our lives will be impacted in the next 30 years, here where we live. Apparently it's kind of terrifying at first but then it tells lots of stories of how we can do something about it and it ends up being very inspiring and energizing. I want to try it, it's just a prototype at this stage, but I'd love to be amongst the first to discover it. I'm planning to invite you and some other friends to do it with me as it'd be more fun with you... I've scheduled three nights that I hope will work for you: Date 1, Date 2, Date 3 [Or: Could you let me know your availability with this doodle link?]. We can each watch it from home at the same time, and then meet virtually to talk for half an hour [Or: We can meet at my place / in the meeting room in the office...].
Would you like to join us?

If you've already done The Week:
You know what it is and so you probably know how to talk about it :-)
We are still offering a short prompt, in case it's helpful.
I did this thing with some friends that I really want to tell you about. We met three times to watch a three-part series about the next 30 years of our lives as the climate begins to fall apart. [Insert what is was like for you. For example: It was pretty scary at first, but then it told the story of how we can do something about it, which was really energizing. It got us pretty fired up to get off the sidelines and actually be ready for what’s coming]. I’m organizing three evenings to go through it again, because I would really like you and a few other [friends/colleagues] to join me so we can talk about this. Would you like to join?
The more personalized, the better! Let people know why you thought about doing The Week with them, rather than someone else .

    4. Reach out so we can send you the videos!

The Week is meant to be watched in small groups, not alone. Because doing it with the people that matter to you will make this experience a lot more meaningful and interesting. So please select the number of people you're planning to invite. It could be friends, relatives, or colleagues.
Submit
When we get your response to this form, we'll send you the links to the videos as well as to the conversation kits, if you think a little help might be useful to get conversations started in your group after each episode.

If forms are not your thing, if you have questions or want to add more information, you can also email us at: community@theweek.ooo
